Chris Black's E.P.K. (Electronic Press Kit)

With the help of Tre Smith and Matt Helt, we now have a professional electronic press kit (E.P.K.) in .pdf format ready to be shared with the world! EPK's typically provide an artist's bio, accomplishments, contact info, upcoming events, etc., so they can be very useful in marketing.

The E.P.K. can be downloaded / viewed from MediaFire HERE.

Fans, please share the E.P.K. (or simply this post) with anyone who may be able to provide opportunities for the up-and-coming Cleveland artist Chris Black.

Also, T.Y.F.U. (Thank You For Understanding) is nearly completed! We are expecting an early November release date. "Back At It" is the next single to be released. For now, check out the lead single "Drift Away" here. I promise we are getting closer to our goals everyday. Let's keep it moving!

Much love,
CBO

Thank you all for the support you've been giving me. Please help us continue the mission and show this song to somebody!

LYRICS
Yeah

I could tell you a story but you'd ignore me.
But I can't help but to feel like someone important.
Probably 'cause you all treat me like I'm performing,
But put yourself in my shoes and see what's before me.
Feel like I live in a prison but y'all don't get it.
Struggle to keep the implicit highly explicit.
I made a tweet 'bout the system 'cause I'm a digit,
Sent a text to my team and I told 'em "time for us to get it."

I said I'm lieutenant, I can't deny it
'Cause they're next to me fighting in the trenches and we ain't dying.
Take all the rules and combine 'em and redefine 'em
Till we ball like Bryant and Bynum, I find it exciting
To keep on biting on these haters. I'm lying to their faces.
I shut the fuck up and concoct a quiet innovation.
'Cause billions of dollars keep us united on a slaveship.
I say this shit for those who won't ignite the conversation.

So it's hard to not feel like I'm just an outcast.
Oh you're a face in the crowd, man I wouldn't doubt that.
I sold a CD and they said I'd never top that.
But now these shows are getting thousands

What you know about that?

I think I'm gonna go.
(I'll never stop)
Drift Away.
(I'll never stall)
Where I can be alone.
(I'll never drop)
Drift Away.
(I'll never fall)
I think I'm gonna go.

I got the guys that got the money pull the strings for me.
They got a thing for me, but no one thinks for me.
I used to tell 'em "I'm the only one who sings for me."
But now I realize the money gotta cha-ching for me.
Pussies think they're calling me out in their music.
But you don't see the qualities of my amusement.
Unless you stayin' off of me, you lookin' stupid.
Kid had a gun but often he would never use it.

Until that one day that it all flipped.
It made you all sick 'cause someone talked shit.
Until he stepped in it, now he's a lost kid.
The wrong way down a one-way, wrong whip.
That's real shit, nonfictional.
'Cause when it's third person I ain't hypothetical.
So I've seen it happen and y'all could never know.
And now you're cuttin' me down for smoking my medicals?
I'll invite you to walk with me through the rabbit hole.
And after that you gon' see me and why I'm never low.
I'm comin' for the bread so I don't have a role.
Feelin' like I have to blow, like Adderall.

So it's hard to not feel like I'm an outcast.
Oh you're a face in the crowd, man I wouldn't doubt that.
I sold a CD and they said I'd never top that.
But now these shows are getting thousands

What you know about that?

I think I'm gonna go.
(I'll never stop)
Drift Away.
(I'll never stall)
Where I can be alone.
(I'll never drop)
Drift Away.
(I'll never fall)
I think I'm gonna go.

UPDATE.

I know it's been a while since you've heard any new "Chris Black" music, and for that I apologize. Lately I've been touring studios, meeting with engineers, booking agents and promoters, creating means of promotion, and, of course, making music. The puzzle pieces are beginning to fall into place, making way for (hopefully) a takeover. My goal is to fulfill the dreams I depicted in Against All Odds.

The music I've been creating in the past few months is new. It has a fresh sound you've never heard before. My lyrics have been reflecting more on perception, giving fans something to relate to. I will release a mixtape within the next few weeks. I'm not going to rush it though; the sound quality of a song is equally important as the song itself. I want to make sure the record is given the proper amount of promotion, meaning videos, concerts, radio play, etc. It needs to have an anticipated release. After that, it has to spread. Like wildfire. That being said, this operation needs help from all of you. Show a friend a song, give them a CD, show them this site, a video, tell them my name; anything and everything you do speeds up this process exponentially. All the help I've gotten from friends and fans has already done so much for me, and all of it means so much to me. Please support the mission in any way you desire. Let's keep this movement going...full speed ahead.

Anyways... here's some new music.
